Porter basketball got an early start this weekend as the Panthers took the court for a tournament featuring both the boys’ and girls’ teams.

The boys’ team got off to a strong start, picking up wins over Walland Elementary and Townsend Elementary. The Panthers showed plenty of energy and teamwork as they began preparing for the season ahead.

The girls’ team also took the court, facing Rockford Elementary and Prospect Elementary. While the results weren't quite what the Panthers were hoping for, the tournament provided a valuable opportunity for the team to compete, gain early-season experience, and prepare for the games ahead.

The Panthers will have several exhibition games coming up before the official start of the 2026 season on October 13 at the Jamboree at Heritage. These games will give both teams additional opportunities to compete, build chemistry, and get ready for the regular season.

With the official season just around the corner, there's plenty of basketball still to come!

Let’s pack the stands, support our players, and show our Panther pride all season long!
